I have been a watercolor artist for about 30 years. My instructor in Vermont called me a realistic impressionist.  Later, I became intrigued by sumi-e painting. I was lucky enough to find a master who was trained in Japan, and she took me as a student. I now paint mostly sumi-e. I also do watercolors to get away from the structure demanded by sumi-e.

I studied watercolor painting  over several summers with Jeanne Carbonetti at Crow Hill Gallery in Chester, Vermont. I then studied sumi-e painting with Kana Handel here in Gainesville.
