About the Gallery
Located in the heart of downtown Melrose in north-central Florida, the gallery is a cooperative established in 2000. Housed in a beautiful early 1900s historic building, the gallery features work in a variety of media by Member and Guest Artists with monthly shows by Featured Artists.
Monthly Art Walks are held in conjunction with other downtown galleries and businesses. Held on the First Friday of each month, it also serves as the opening reception for the current Featured Artist. Shows change each month or so. Work by Member Artists changes every two months or as it sells. All work shown is available for purchase and benefits the gallery.
Melrose Bay Art Gallery is a co-op of artists, all of whom share a voice in making decisions and managing the business aspects of the gallery with the goal of creating a unique fine art experience for our visitors and patrons.
Membership in the gallery is restricted to about 16 artists because of limited space and changes only when a current Member retires from active gallery membership. An artist who is interested in becoming a Member must be willing to work a periodic front desk shift, take on added responsibilities of administration, and pay quarterly dues.
Participating Members comprise the core of the gallery. Artists interested in applying for Membership may send an email or use the Contact tab on the website and we will send you further information.
Affiliate Members are former members who have contributed significantly to the success and direction of the gallery but are no longer active and are not exhibiting work in the gallery.
