Adrienne Gonia

Oil, Acrylic, & Cold Wax

As a retired traveler who has made Gainesville my home, I am continually inspired by the landscape of Paynes Prairie, the surrounding countryside, and the animals that live here.  The ever-changing light in North Central Florida provides a dramatic backdrop to our local environment and my goal is to paint the wild beauty of the area.

I also paint in locations on numerous hiking trips throughout North Carolina, Georgia, and other regions of the United States, and am very interested in portraying various aspects of prehistoric art.

Recently, I transitioned from working with acrylics to cold wax, an oil-based process.  It allows a more fluid movement as well as a shorter drying time than conventional oils and, for me, results in an entirely different style than my previous work.
